Keeper of the Light

Nov 10 - 19

Created by Katie Kaufmann - Directed by Genevieve Bennett

KEEPER OF THE LIGHT, a new physical theater piece from devised theater creator and performer Katie Kaufmann, follows an unlikely bond between a modern woman and Ida Lewis, the first woman lighthouse keeper made famous for her heroic rescues at sea in the 1800s. Incorporating physicality, song and shadow puppetry, KEEPER OF THE LIGHT explores isolation, obsolescence, and perseverance, finding parallels between motherhood and the duty of light keeping.
