A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE EGG by Peter Nichols
Not your usual holiday play, this side-splitting comedy tells the story of a couple struggling to keep their marriage together while raising their severely disabled child. They have survived on laughter for the last 11 years. When their friends, Freddie and Pam, and Bri's mom arrive, the darkness behind the jokes begins to emerge. A seldom staged work, described as "courageous and meaningful, a heartfelt expression of love and loss told the way only theatre can."
Red Eye is pleased to host Public Dreams Theatre in its inaugural season. The company is founded by Benjamin and Mandy Kutscheid, who developed an earlier project in Red Eye's Works-In-Progress 2011 program.
Performances are at 8 PM Friday, Saturday and Monday, with 2 PM matinees on Sundays on Nov 30, Dec 1-2-3, Dec 7-10 and Dec 14-16. The two Monday night shows, Dec 3 and 10, are pay-as-able performances.
