On Saturday, July 15, we will be holding auditions for another of our signature experimental productions. If you love collaborating on new scripts, this is the project for you!
LIFE’S PARADE is the last in a trilogy of original scripts written by playwright Katharine Sherman in collaboration with director Steve Busa, each inspired by a different 20th Century cinematic masterpiece, but with the themes revised and updated through a 21st Century lens. The first part in the series, WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME, TOMORROW explored the theme of fear and referenced Fritz Lang’s 1931 film M. That was followed by the premiere of THE SLOW MOTION CARNIVAL, which referenced Contempt, the 1963 Godard classic, and dealt with relationships and betrayal. This final piece looks to Douglas Sirk’s 1954 melodrama Magnificent Obesessions, and explores the themes of secrets and romance as seen through the eyes of a middle-aged divorcée.
Casting a diverse ensemble of 2F and 2M. Actors of color are encouraged to audition.
